Growing up, I knew I didn't have the same level of privileges as my peers. Coming from a low-income household, I understood the harsh reality that I needed to hustle hard to make a better future for myself. One of my main life goals was to not only provide my parents with a comfortable life but also create an exciting one for myself. As soon as I graduated from high school, my adventurous journey began, marked by taking risks and seizing unexpected opportunities.
The story unfolds during my early college years when I crossed paths with a friend who introduced me to the F&B industry, sparking a particular fascination with specialty coffee. Over the next four years, we embarked on a journey, building various coffee and dessert brands, venturing into e-commerce, and even running a marketing agency. It was during this time that I delved deep into the realm of graphic design, immersing myself in the world of creatives and all the other good stuff that comes with it.
In between all of that chaos, I also had the opportunity to open up my own optical store... In the span of 8 months, I moved to San Diego, leased an old hair salon and remodeled it to a beautiful space. After about two years of major fomo from being away from family and friends, I decided to sell the shop and head back to my hometown in OC. (Side story: The timing couldn’t have been better! Within 3 months of selling the shop, Covid-19 hit and I was able to dodge that bullet.)
As the pandemic continued, and after freelancing for a while, I felt the urge to transition to a corporate setting. That's when I secured a position at L’Oreal, working on packaging and creative design for Urban Decay Cosmetics. And after nearly three years there, I decided to take a risk and quit my job.
Since then, I’ve taken some time to rest and realign my life, while also sneaking in some fun trips. I’m excited to see what 2024 has in store... Let’s create some cool things together!
Wow, you must like me enough to have read all that. I appreciate you 🫰🏻
